18th century, the Netherlands – Ivory fan – Twenty pieced, carved and gilded ivory sticks. Face of leaf paper, painted with landscape and group of six figures on a terrace. Reverse of leaf-kid painted with landscape and group of six figures on a terrace. Reverse of leaf–kid painted with landscape. Gilt swivel. Guards have mother of pearl strips set in ends.
